The University of Washington has hundreds of classes which touch on sustainability, but there is much more the university can do to explicitly incorporate sustainability into its academics. The interdisciplinary cross-campus Sustainability in the Curriculum Committee recently concluded, “the time is ripe for all UW campuses to make sustainability a top priority not only in its operations but across the curriculum.”

To help determine how the UW might best work toward that goal, students from across campus will come together for a conversation on sustainability in the curriculum. The discussion will include questions such as: If the UW were to be a leader in sustainability education, what would that look like to you as a student? How can the UW cultivate the kinds of innovative, interdisciplinary linkages that sustainability education requires? What sustainability-related courses already inspire you? And, most importantly, what can you envision as your contribution as we move forward?

Please join the Conversation Cafe in the HUB, room 250, on Tuesday, February 24 at 5 p.m. RSVP here: https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/elised2/260170
