As we prepare for this year's SustainableUW Festival, which will take place Oct. 17-23, we are remembering last year's events. The 2015 Huskies for Humanity presentations focused on connections to the Duwamish River, including restoration efforts and art installations. One of the presentations was on the Duwamish Lighthouse:

The Lighthouse sculpture was decommissioned in March, but while it was up it provided a window into the health of the river, by changing its light output based on real-time readings of the river's environmental quality.

We're working on finalizing this year's Huskies for Humanity as well as other festival events. We'll announce details on the full festival calendar soon at sustainability.uw.edu/festival
