CSR Thursdays is a student-authored blog post series in which we share information about the corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts underway by the many and diverse suppliers and vendors of the UW. Look no further to start gaining an understanding on what businesses that provide products often purchased by students, faculty, and staff are doing to promote environmental sustainability!

This week’s company: Wilcox Farms

Wilcox farms, a UW food supplier, is committed to sustainable farming. Sustainable farming is responsible farming. Wilcox farms has their own feed mill and they make their own organic feed that contains no pesticides or harmful chemicals. Wilcox Family Farms is also committed to becoming a completely cage-free farm.  The cage-free philosphy keeps their products completely organic, healthy and better tasting.  Their 500 acres of farmland is certified organic and they are members of the salmon-safe program helping to keep local salmon and the nearby Nisqually River free of pesticides or harmful chemicals.
