This weekend Husky football is hosting one of the biggest games of the year, trying to stay undefeated against Southern Cal. While you're in the stands cheering the Huskies to victory, you can also do your part to help UW win another competition.

This weekend UW is competing in the GameDay Recycling Challenge, a nationwide competition among universities to reduce and recycle the waste generated at home football games. Schools across the country track their recycling and composting data, competiting for the best waste diversion rates. Last year, 99 schools competed, with fans recycing 2.1 million pounds of bottles, cans, paper, cardboard and more, while also composting nearly half a million pounds of food waste.

Nearly everything you can get at concession stands in Husky Stadium can be recycled or composted. Pay attention to where your waste goes, and help UW win the Game Day Challenge!
