The Yesler Swamp Bird Blind project is looking for a talented and passionate UW undergrad preferably with an interest and background in environmental science and resource management to help with the bird blind feasibility study. The project engineer is a student who can commit 5 hours a week in the spring and (potentially) summer quarters, on a volunteer basis. You will be working side by side with the project lead.
Yesler Swamp Bird Blind - Project Engineer, duties will include:
- Completing and submitting the remaining portions of the preliminary permit application (60% complete), this includes:
- estimating quantity and areas of ground disturbances
- scheduling and organizing a pre-submittal conference with Seattle DPD
- submitting additional metrics such as total SF of new construction, total SF of new impervious surfaces, and the estimated project value (in $)
- field measuring tree dbh and caliper - then adding these measurements with tree locations on the survey documents
- completing and submitting the topographic survey per the ECA exemption site plan requirements
- Completing and submitting the ECA exemption application (0% complete)
