We get a lot of questions about how EcoReps is structured. We'll do our best to answer that question here.
First, we have tiered levels of involvement. Some students may only be able to commit to coming to the monthly networking event (which is always fun and informative) while other students may decide they want to start building their professional skills so decide to start volunteering on programs or projects. The tiered level of involvement is designed to allow students to develop escalating skill sets and competencies that can be highlighted on resumes.
EcoReps Involvement Levels
- 1st Level - attend and participate in our monthly social networking event
- 2nd Level - participate as a team member in one of the EcoReps programs or projects
- 3rd Level - Lead an EcoReps program or project...or start a new one!
- 4th Level - Become one of the EcoReps program level coordinators
A visual of the framework of EcoReps is below. Basically there is an admin team of students that support a variety of programs and projects. You will see that all of our programs and projects have student leaders and teams, as well as a staff or faculty advisor. New ideas for programs and projects arise all the time so there is never a shortage of opportunities for students to get involved with programs and projects that help improve UW. And yes, they look great on a resume too!
