MiniMax Program

MiniMax is UW’s comprehensive waste diversion system designed to minimize waste by maximizing recycling and compost—including restroom paper towel composting. Self-service deskside recycling and waste bins are provided to offices/workstations so staff can empty their waste items into centralized garbage, recycling and compost bins. This practice prompts individuals to develop a sense of personal responsibility for their own waste generation.

This office of 9 members has achieved Gold certification in the Green Office Certification Program. The Office of News and Information innovates by saving rubber bands from mail and newspapers to give back to carriers for reuse, having every staff member bring in a reusable water bottle, and having a drinking fountain in the office with a water bottle spout.
