CSF finishes biggest year ever

The Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) has finalized its grant allocations for the 2016-2017 academic year, awarding five projects a total of $284,028 in its final funding round. In addition to grants from earlier funding cycles, the CSF awarded a total of $589,666 to 23 projects throughout the year.

That is the largest amount the CSF has allocated in any single year, including the largest single project in CSF history - $150,000 toward solar power installations on the new Life Sciences Building.

CSF approves $141,000 in student projects

The Campus Sustainability Fund has awarded more than $141,000 in grants to seven student-led projects in the final funding round for the 2015-2016 school year.

These grants increase the total awarded by CSF during the school year to $323,486 for 21 projects which lessen the university's environmental impact and foster a more environmentally-conscious culture at the UW. This is the sixth year the student-funded and student-run CSF has provided grant funds for student projects on campus.

The Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF) has awarded a total of $166,653 to seven student-led projects in the final funding round of 2014-2015. Including the early funding round this winter, the CSF granted 13 projects a total of more than $270,000 this school year.

The student-funded and student-run CSF was established in 2010 to create a sustainable campus and foster an environmentally conscious University culture by funding student-led projects that lessen the University's environmental impact.

UW Launches Commuter Calculator

The University of Washington announces the launch of its new Commuter Calculator—an interactive web-based application that allows commuters to explore how their commute choices affect the cost, CO2 output and calories burned by their commute. Created by UW students, funded by the Campus Sustainability Fund, and supported by UW Transportation Services and the Environmental Stewardship & Sustainability (ESS) office, the site gives commuters a new tool for making commuting choices.
