The University of Washington Husky Green Awards recognize students, faculty, staff and teams from all UW campuses who demonstrate initiative, leadership and dedication to sustainability.
The Husky Green Awards depend on nominations from the UW community to identify sustainability superstars. Nominations are now open at green.uw.edu/hga and anyone at UW can submit a nomination to show appreciation for their green role models at the university. Everyone at UW is eligible to submit a nomination before March 1, 2017. Winners will be recognized during the UW's Earth Day celebrations on April 21, 2017.
Dozens of people and groups have received Husky Green Awards since the program started in 2010. Award winners include energetic student leaders, faculty mentors, staff who go above and beyond to find sustainable solutions, and teams across the UW who contribute to the university's mission of sustainability.
Nominations should include information on how the nominees fit the award nomination criteria of leadership, initiative and dedication. Let us know how your unsung sustainability heroes have made a difference to the campus and our community.
The Husky Green Awards are sponsored by the Environmental Stewardship Committee, which is responsible for guiding the UW’s Climate Action Plan goals. The awards are the only recognition program at the University which recognize a commitment to sustainability. In 2013, the program also created the Husky Green Legacy Award to memorialize the efforts and contributions of UW’s environmental sustainability leaders.
