ISCN Excellence in Integration Award
The University of Washington won the 2014 Excellence in Integration Award.The ISCN award criteria evaluated schools who are demonstrating integration of sustainability management in campus operations, research and teaching while producing positive impacts to the community.

STARS Gold
The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance. The University of Washington achieved Gold with a total score of 70.23.  

The University of Washington received this rating in October 2012, the STARS rating is valid for three years.

Princeton Review Green Honor Roll
The Princeton Review Green Ratings of colleges: a measure of how environmentally friendly the institutions are on a scale of 60 to 99. UW was one of 24 schools to earn a perfect 99 rating, garnering a Green Honor Roll award for the fourth straight year.

Seattle Business Magazine Community Impact Award
Seattle Business magazine honored the region’s most influential community leaders with the inaugural Community Impact Awards. The University of Washington won for Sustainability in Business Operations.

American School & University Green Cleaning Awards Higher Education Grand Award
The University of Washington won American School & University magazine's 2014 Higher Education Grand Award. It was the third time since 2007 the UW had won the Grand Award as part of the magazine's Green Cleaning Awards.

Practice GreenHealth Top 25 Enviromental Excellence awards
Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington Medical Center were each selected for the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award, recognizing the 25 health care facilities across the county that best exemplify enviromental excellence. 

Platinum Commute Trip Reduction Award
The University of Washington was one of four organizations named a 2015 Commute Trip Reduction Champion Platinum Employer by the City of Seattle.

Gold level Bicycle Friendly University
The League of American Bicyclists named UW a Gold-level bike friendly university, one of just 12 schools nationwide to earn a Gold or Platinum rating.

Sierra Club Cool Schools
The University of Washington ranked 34th of 173 schools in the Sierra Club's Cool Schools rankings. UW placed in the top five among the schools in its peer groups of the Pac-12, OFM 8 and Global Challenge schools.

SaveOnEnergy.com No. 1 Green Football School
The preseason Associated Press Top 25 football teams were re-ranked by SaveOnEnergy on their sustainability efforts, with the University of Washington coming out on top.

ENERGY STAR Certification - UW Tower Data Center
The UW Tower Data Center has earned ENERGY STAR Certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for a 2nd year in a row, one of just 22 U.S. data centers to qualify. This recognizes reduced power consumption, lowered carbon footprint and slower growth of future power needs. Only one other university’s data center was among those certified. The UW Tower Data Center, operated by UW-IT, scored 98 out of 100 for 2014 — three points higher than in 2013 — and provides managed space, power and cooling of critical infrastructure supporting IT departments campus-wide.
