This year, EcoReps is unveiling the Green Greek Representative Program, a brand new outreach program aimed at increasing sustainable operations in the Greek Community. The program is currently run by Kiyomi Morris and Tali Haller, who have been working nonstop for the past couple months to create it.

In the Green Greek Representative Program, a member from each fraternity and sorority in the UW Greek Community attends monthly meetings that will teach them about sustainable chapter operations and resources available to chapters. The representative is then responsible for installing sustainable infrastructure and educating members of his/her chapter about green lifestyle choices. Currently, 50 out of the 54 campus chapters have a Green Greek Representative and all are in the process of getting Green Greek Certified

The introductory Green Greek Representative meeting took place on Tuesday, November 3. The group planned their first project, a street clean-up of the Greek Community co-hosted by the North of 45th Committee, which will take place on November 21 from 10:30am to noon. Read more about the clean-up here.
