Help keep Seattle green this Saturday!

The 10th annual Green Seattle Day starts Saturday, Nov. 7, at 9 a.m. in parks throughout Seattle. The event brings together hundreds of volunteers to plant thousands of trees and other plants in parks throughout Seattle. Green Seattle Day is a celebration of the forest that makes this the Emerald City. Help us keep it that way!

The day is family-friendly - all ages are welcome, and no experience is necessary. The Green Seattle Partnership will supply all the plants, tools, gloves, coffee and snacks for volunteers to work in 15 different parks around Seattle.

From the U-District, you can register today to help plant a newly-cleared section of the Burke-Gilman Trail in Sand Point, or any of the other 14 locations around the city. Sign up early so organizers know how many supplies are needed at each location.

Volunteers should dress for the weather - the event will go on rain or shine - and wear closed-toe shoes that can get dirty and wet. Bring a reusable mug to fill with coffee or water.
