The UW Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration is holding a native plant sale on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the SER's nursery at the Center for Urban Horticulture.

The SER plant nursery is a student run operation that provides plants to the on-campus restoration projects that SER-UW manages. The nursery has an inventory of over 2,400 plants of more than 70 different species native to the forests and prairies of Lower Puget Sound. Plants are sourced from plant salvages, donations from local business, campus research projects and classes, and from collected seeds.

All proceeds from the native plant sale will go towards funding the SER-UW restoration projects on campus and providing horticulture learning opportunities for UW students.

If you're interested in volunteering with SER to help restore areas on campus, they're holding a work party on Whitman Walk this Sunday, Nov. 8, installing new interpretive signs and adding new plants to the site. They also hold work parties on campus every Friday - check the Sustainability Calendar or the SER Facebook page for information on the weekly events.
