CSR Thursdays is a student-authored blog post series in which we share information about the corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts underway by the many and diverse suppliers and vendors of the UW. Look no further to start gaining an understanding on what businesses that provide products often purchased by students, faculty, and staff are doing to promote environmental sustainability!

This week's company: Zipcar

Zipcar brand is one of the world’s leading car sharing networks. They pride themselves on working towards a goal of redefining transportation to make cities better places and reduce carbon emissions by reducing the number of cars on the road. At Zipcar, their major goal is to create a future where car-sharing members outnumber car owners in major cities across the globe.

Zipcar has partnered with the University of Washington allowing students to join for an initial registration fee of only $15. Additionaly, to increase access of Zipcar vehicles for UW students, there are four Zipcar locations on campus and many others in the surrounding area. Check out the infographic below to learn more about the environmental impact of Zipcar.
