Hello! I'm Drue Johnson, a junior majoring in Communications and minoring in English. I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work at UW Sustainability because the Student Program Assistant position allows me to be a social representative of the office. In addition, I get the chance to get experience writing blog posts, social media posts, and to work on my interpersonal communications skills.

Being a part of the sustainability office is especially exciting for me because it is the perfect medium for me to combine my love of communications with my passion for the environment. I hope to start a career path in which I can present and raise awareness of environmental issues as well as eco-friendly practices to large organizations, both corporate and non-profit. I've been a fan of cleaning up the environment and conservation efforts ever since I was in elementary school, when I first started volunteering with local park clean ups. I now spend most of my Saturday mornings with my volunteer club UW Rotaract, which does a lot for food and forest conservation! My main goal in my time at UW Sustainability is to encourage and widen the amount of student outreach, making sustainability a pillar of the entire campus environment.
