The new U District Link Light Rail Station is scheduled to open in 2021. This is an exciting investment in our neighborhood that will significantly change the way many people get around.  The U District Mobility Group, a community-led effort of neighbors, stakeholders, public agencies and nonprofit organizations, is holding a series of community workshops to collect community members’ ideas on barriers, opportunities, and potential solutions. The goal is a community-driven, holistic, multimodal U District station area mobility plan.

The first of three workshops is Wednesday, March 7, from 5-7:30pm at the U Heights Community Center. Future workshops will be held on April 3 and May 30. You can also take a survey to let the group know how you get around the U District and your desired improvements.

To facilitate the project, the Mobility Group is collaborating with a consultant team to provide the technical support needed to develop the plan. We invite you to get involved and share what is happening so the plan can represent the diverse and unique voices of the U District.
