Talking Climate: Why Facts are Not Enough

Join Professor Katharine Hayhoe in a conversation about the influence humans have on climate over the last 150 years. Hayhoe will make note of the ideological, socioeconomic, and religious factors that come into play when we discuss climate change. How can we begin to have constructive dialogues about climate change and what to do about it? Attend to find out.

Running a farm takes a lot of dedication and hard work and our farm volunteers are an integral part of what keeps us growing. Whether you are interested in learning more about sustainable farming practices or you just want to lend a hand to help support the UW food community, we would love to meet you!
All are welcome to stop by and visit the Farm or volunteer during any of our Volunteer Hours but if you've never been to the UW Farm before, please begin by signing up to be a volunteer. This helps us track volunteers and insures you in case of injury.

Need a break from studying? Like to attack invasive plants? Nothing clears the brain like some hard work in the fresh air! Come out and join us for weekly work parties in the Union Bay Natural Area!
Every Thursday in Spring Quarter 2018, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. come join us for some good ol' fun in the dirt and learn about the Union Bay Natural Area and ecological restoration! Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed. Gloves, tools, and snacks are provided for all volunteers! Remember to bring water and wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get dirty. We will work, rain or shine!
