Discover the details of UW's environmental history

The UW Program on the Environment Sustainability Studio class has been investigating the University of Washington's environmental history this quarter, and the students are going to share their findings with a campus walking tour on Thursday, May 28.

The tour will highlight some of UW's iconic and hidden environmental history hotspots, as it looks at how the university's past and present challenge and inspire the UW's sustainability goals.

Bike Month classes

May is Bike Month, and UW Transportation Services wants to give you the tools to be a better-informed cyclist on the road. Whether you're looking to start riding for the first time, are looking for some extra pointers on how to ride in traffic, or want to learn how to fix your own flat tires, there's a class for you this month.

UW recognized in RecycleMania Tournament

The University of Washington’s Seattle campus earned a spot on the list of top 20 schools in RecycleMania, a national collegiate waste diversion tournament. For the first time in the University’s three years of participation, UW finished 17th overall with a recycling rate of nearly 63%. Additionally, the University surpassed other Pac-12 schools by 20% in total waste diversion, which includes both recycling and composting.
