The UW Food Pantry has an opening for a student Fresh Food and Sustainability Intern. The focus of this position is on food gleaning/recapture from the UW Farm and on-campus dining locations for redistribution at the UW Food Pantry. This might be for you if you enjoy being outside, working with the UW Farm, and are interested in bringing your peers together to reduce food waste and help students in need.

RecycleMania starts this week at the University of Washington! For the eighth year, the UW will be participating in the friendly recycling competition.

As part of RecycleMania, UW Recycling will be organizing events and activities to promote waste reduction with campus partners.

Get Caught Green-Handed with SEED

Show off your recycling know-how when you get caught “green-handed”. Participants who sort their waste correctly at Local Point Café on Feb. 12 will be rewarded for being sustainable!

Every one of us interacts with food on a daily basis in some way. This week, the UW Farm, Campus Food Pantry and ASUW Student Food Cooperative will be discussing various aspects of our food systems as part of the Sustainability Stories seminar series. Also happening this week is a Student Sustainability Forum, movie screening, discussion on diversity and much more.

The UW American Indian Studies Department and Na’ah Illahee Fund invite Individual, Panel, or Workshop abstracts for the “Living Breath of wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ” Indigenous Foods Symposium to be held on May 1 & 2, 2020 at the University of Washington’s wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ Intellectual House.

Submissions are due on January 20, 2020.
