Last month's SustainableUW Festival brought together people from across the University of Washington to celebrate our many sustainability efforts, and talk about what's next. There were many inspirational discussions and connections - relive some of the festival highlights with this video:

As we prepare for this year's SustainableUW Festival, which will take place Oct. 17-23, we are remembering last year's events. The 2015 Huskies for Humanity presentations focused on connections to the Duwamish River, including restoration efforts and art installations. One of the presentations was on the Duwamish Lighthouse:
The 2015 SustainableUW Festival celebrated sustainability across the University of Washington with many events across campus during the week-long festival.
Departments and groups across the UW hosted events throughout the week. The UW Sustainability staff wasn't able to get to every event, although we appreciate everyone who participated. The wide range of listings on the calendar serves to showcase the breadth and depth of the ongoing sustainability efforts on campus.
During the SustainableUW Festival our office asked a UW daycare to help us celebrate by coloring pictures of our mascot, Sqwatch. When we stopped by at the end of the festival to see the artwork, we brought a surprise - Wizard, a representative from the Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League. We also got an added bonus, as the children were dressed up for Halloween.
Check out pictures from the day, as well as some of the coloring entries, below.
The centerpiece of the SustainableUW Festival, the sustainability exhibitor fair on Red Square last Wednesday gave thousands of UW students, faculty and staff a look at the sustainability efforts of organizations across the university and the community.
