For decades the UW has been recognized as home to one of the strongest constellations of environmental and intellectual talent in the world - College of the Environment

By offering over 550 courses related to the environment or sustainability, UW provides the educational resources for students to incorporate sustainability into any area of study. Environment or Sustainability focused and related courses are offered throughout many departments and degree programs at the University of Washington. A Sustainability in the Curriculum Committee is tasked with finding ways to formalize the integration of sustainability into more curriculum across the University. Additionally, the UW Professional & Continuing Education offers courses, certificates and degrees in Environment & Sustainability. 

Within the departments below, over 250 faculty are conducting research related to the environment or sustainability, and bringing thousands of students into their research projects each year.
