The University of Washington will be celebrating Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22, with festivities on Red Square. The event, hosted by the student group Earth Club in partnership with UW Sustainability, will feature student organizations, UW departments, sustainable food vendors and other organizations sharing how they work toward environmental and sustainability goals. Attendees will also enjoy live music, speakers and the Husky Green Award presentation.
Seattle City Councilmember Mike O'Brien will deliver the main remarks for the event, and Dr. Lisa Graumlich, Dean of the College of the Environment, will present the Husky Green Awards. UW alum Sameer Ranade returns as the master of ceremonies for the event after also emceeing the 2010 and 2011 event.
