The University of Washington is one of four schools that will get small Innova Dash electric micro cars this summer to conduct sustainablity research.
The cars are being provided by Innova and Internet2. Each car is equipped with a tablet computer that automatically connects to the campus wireless network, uploading data on the car's performance which can be used for research projects. In addition to UW, the University of Pittsburgh, Colorado State University and the University of Wisconsin were selected for the project.
Faculty in engineering, information technology, and environmental and forest sciences will be able to submit research proposals using the vehicles. The research will involve UW students as well.
