Princeton Review Score of 99
The Princeton Review – known for its education services helping students choose and get in to colleges – reported its second annual Green Ratings of colleges: a measure of how environmentally friendly the institutions are on a scale of 60 to 99.


Sierra Club Cool Schools Ranked # 9
The top schools earned points in ten categories: policies for building, energy, food, investment, procurement, and transportation; curriculum; environmental activism; waste management; and overall commitment to sustainability. A perfect score in every area would give a school 100 points.


A- on the Green Report Card
The College Sustainability Report Card is the only independent evaluation of campus and endowment sustainability activities at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. In contrast to the academic focus on sustainability in research and teaching, the Report Card examines colleges and universities, as institutions, through the lens of sustainability.

UW Recognized as a Tree Campus USA
Recognizes college and university campuses that effectively manage their campus trees, develop connectivity with the community beyond campus borders to foster healthy, urban forests, and strive to engage their student population utilizing service learning opportunities centered on campus, and community, forestry efforts.

UW was named one of 25 Green Colleges in Kaplan College Guide 2009's feature on schools that are environmentally responsible.

Commuter Challenge Diamond Ring Award
The goal of the Diamond Awards is to publicly recognize those local businesses and employee transportation coordinators that regularly go “above and beyond” when it comes to providing trip reduction programs to employees. Commuter Challenge showcases effective employee transportation programs in the King County region.

Diamong Ring recepients are recognized for their outstanding leadership in the field.
